Fluid Bed Drying
Used extensively in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, fertilizers, and more, fluid bed dryers reduce the moisture content of powders and granules.
Feed materials are fluidized, or given the characteristics of a fluid, by introducing conditioned air or gas to moist particulate through a perforated bed. The fluidized particles transfer moisture to the air quickly and efficiently, and the evaporative effect keeps the particles cool. As a result, even temperature-sensitive products can be dried using a fluid bed.
